Are you starting your journey as a standup comedian? Are you a writer who wants to inject more humor into your work? Are you ready to become the life of the party (virtual or live)?
Netflix and CNN featured comedian Alyssa Al-Dookhi (they/them) returns with this hugely successful 2-hour workshop that explores where humor comes from. Learn how to integrate it into your work and daily life. You will be introduced to the comedic parts of speech, joke structures, and the rhythm of comedy. By the end of the session, you will leave with your very own jokes that you’ve written and workshopped and are ready to take out into the world.
This online workshop is highly interactive with opportunities to write and develop your work.
About Alyssa Al-Dookhi
Alyssa Al-Dookhi (they/them) is an Arab American comedian, writer and game show host living in Philadelphia.
They are currently the lead script writer for First Person Arts and a content creator for Abortion Access Front. Alyssa co-hosts the podcast “Make Up Or Break Up” on Radiokismet. You can also catch them showing their passion for public television as membership talent on WHYY. Alyssa was a contestant in the Netflix karaoke competition show ‘Sing On!’ a warm-up comic for season 5 of Netflix’s ‘Queer Eye,’ and was a featured performer at the Women in Comedy Festival presented by HBO.
