The stand-up comedy scene is still plagued by biases against women? You’ve got to be kidding. In her winning story from last night’s StorySlam, Marjorie finds herself in the middle of a comedy crisis, and she’s ready to reveal her wild side. Will Marjorie get the last laugh? Watch the video of her winning story from last night’s Slam below and find out.
No stranger to First Person Arts, Marjorie’s big win at the Summer Grand Slam at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts this past May earned her the title of “Best Storyteller in Philadelphia.” Last night’s win reserved her spot competing for the crown a second time. See her take the stage again at the upcoming Fall Grand Slam at the 2012 First Person Arts Festival (November 8-17).
Equally as wild, our Audience Favorite tale came from another First Person Arts favorite who knows how to make an impression. Take it from Brady, the best way to impress the girl you’re crushing on may not always be prancing around the dance floor wearing a bright pink feather boa. That said, when you’ve turned on the owner of the bright pink feather boa, you might think twice before turning her down. Shake your groove thing with Brady, last night’s Audience Favorite in the video of his performance below.
Congratulations Marjorie and Brady! Special thanks to all of our wild storytellers and to everyone who came out last night. Stay tuned for more stories from last night’s Slam coming soon to the First Person Arts YouTube Channel.
