So wait…where do babies come from?

We kicked off the new Slam season with a night of blooper stories inspired by some pretty memorable faux-pas, slipups, and faults at last night’s Slam. The theme was “Favorite Mistake.” Ten audience storytellers slammed their best stories on the theme of the night for a packed World Cafe Live audience.

Jardod’s story told of how one baby “whipped up” a very special marinade for the Thanksgiving turkey. Romance went out the window along with a cat named fluffy who made a landing as soft as its name in Cecilia’s never-again story. And FPA’s very own Marketing Intern, Ariel told of how honesty isn’t always the best policy when dealing with her Great Aunt Mildred.

Our winning and Audience Favorite story came from first time StorySlammer, Yahni. Just when I thought I understood where babies come from, Yahni sends me right back to square one of Sex Ed. I mean, this story is still blowing my mind. Watch the video of her winning performance that challenges the age old question “Where do babies come from?” and replaces it with “Who’s your daddy?” See what our friends at Philebrity had to say about Yahni’s story here.

Congratulations Yahni! Special thanks to all of our storytellers and to everyone who came out last night. Stay tuned for more videos coming soon to the First Person Arts YouTube channel.
