Meet RISK! Storyteller, Teresa!
Name: Teresa Marquard
Location: Germantown, Philadelphia
Q: What’s the “riskiest” thing you’ve ever done in public? (Besides performing in RISK?…)
A: I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and the father hasn’t married me yet…so I don’t think I should share the riskiest thing I’ve done in public until that happens!
Q: RISK is all about bold, fierce, and uncensored storytelling. Where is the last place you would be caught dead telling the tale you’re going to perform on 4/11 at Underground Arts and why?
A: I’m actually pretty excited to tell this story. Unfortunately it comes on the heels of my mother’s death, but I know she would be proud.
Q: Who is your performer/storytelling idol and why?
A: I like the Muslims that stand outside of the giant clothespin and scream at me about Allah. I have no idea what they’re saying but hopefully they can raise enough money to buy a better PA system so I can. They’re enthusiasm is enticing.
Q: FPA’s mission is to transform the drama of real life into memoir and documentary art. What would chapter 6 of your memoir be called?
A: Career Day: Teenage Years I Spent Rating Every Mental Health Facility in Philadelphia
Q: What makes you a good storyteller?
A: I never said I was a good storyteller. But thanks!
