Meet Grand Slam Contestant Caroline!

Welcome Caroline to the Grand Slam! She and our 10 other Slam-winning storytellers will perform their most outrageous, gutsy, and heartfelt personal tales on the theme “Thanks A Lot.” Tickets are on sale NOW, so grab yours here and come out & cheer on our talented contestants.

Name: Caroline Charrow
Age: 28
Location: Philadelphia
Slam won: Lifeline

AG: What was the last thing you won (StorySlam not included)?
CC: My husband is a roboticist and he made me go to his robot competition, but it ended up being worth it because I won a raffle for a roomba!

AG: This is our 13th Annual FPA Fest. In honor of that, could you share with us a 13 word story?
CC: I once ate a full jar of peanut butter with my bare hands.

AG: For the first time ever, the winner of this Grand Slam will get a $250 CASH PRIZE! What will you do with the money if you win?
CC: Buy myself a lifetime supply of Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia ice cream. (Who am I kidding – $250 only buys 62 pints; that’s like a year’s supply tops.)

AG: What would your dream theme be for a StorySlam? What story would you tell?
CC: “Brush with fame” so I could tell the story of when I met the Professor from Gilligan’s Island and he kissed me on my cheek, and it was the high point of my life thus far.

AG: Who would you love to perform live on stage with?
CC: Ringo Starr. Not so much because I want to perform with him, but because I’m still in love with him from my awkward middle school Beatles obsession, so I’d just like to meet him.

AG: Why are you a good storyteller? (aka why should your competitors be scared?)
CC: I was a seventh grade teacher for a number of years, so after that no audience can faze me.
