Help, I Need Somebody!
Two of our awesome volunteers at the Summer Grand Slam
And not just anybody… I’m looking for smart, capable, creative and fun folks to be a part of First Person Arts as volunteers and interns.
The First Person Festival line-up was announced yesterday which means that some great performances, author readings, films and workshops are just around the corner. It also means that we need help putting together this amazing week of memoir and documentary art. The First Person Festival brochure will be out and about in early October and we’re seeking volunteers to help with brochure distribution and tabling at events like Outfest and the RiverCity Festival. During the First Person Festival itself, volunteers help with ushering, greeting, book sales, concessions and more. In return, you get vouchers towards Festival programs! If you are interested in volunteering, contact Karina at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also need some help in the ol’ office cause that’s where all the magic happens and that’s where interns come into play. We’re currently looking for interns to help with marketing and development initiatives, related to both the Festival and First Person Arts in general. If you are interested in interning, email your resume and cover letter to Dan Gasiewski at email@example.com. Details are below and on our Volunteer/Intern page.
The Marketing Intern works closely with the Marketing Coordinator in all aspects of marketing the First Person Festival, including: blog writing, promotional partnerships, web/blog analytics, audience research and outreach, and email marketing. Candidates should have excellent writing skills and be detail oriented.
The Development Intern works with the Development Manager on grant research and writing, and maintaining donation records. While development experience is not necessary, candidates should have excellent writing and proofreading skills, be fluent with the basic Office suite of programs, and have some experience working with databases.
Digital Media Intern
The Digital Media Intern works closely with the Marketing Coordinator to create and organize digital/online recordings of First Person Arts’ programs and activities. Candidates must have a working knowledge of digital photography and video, and standard photo and video sharing platforms (Flickr, YouTube). Knowledge of video editing software and ediitng experience is helpful but not required. Knowledge of iMovie or access to other editing software required. First Person Arts will provide equipment.
