Bob Wants to Ride His Bicycle

“It’s just like riding a bike,” the old saying goes, “you never forget.” But our Winning Storyteller from last night’s StorySlam begs to differ. And he didn’t show us, but he claims he has the scars to prove it.

Our tenth and final Slammer of the evening, Bob, took the stage at L’Etage and slammed his story on the theme “In Transit.” For all of you who’ve never told a story before, know that this was Bob’s first time not only telling a story, but his first time ever at a Slam! He stole the judges’ and the audiences’ hearts- taking a full sweep win of both Winning Storyteller and Audience Favorite. Watch the video of Bob’s story below.

See what our friends at Philebrity had to say about Bob’s story.

Last night’s win earned Bob a spot in the Fall Grand Slam roster as part of the 2012 First Person Arts Festival. See him compete along with the other winners of this season for the title of “Best Storyteller in Philadelphia” and free admission for life.

Congrats Bob! Special thanks to all of our storytellers and our host, Brady Dale. Thanks too to everyone who came out last night. We hope you’ll join us next time Monday, August 13 at World Cafe Live. The theme is “Obsessed.”
