Board Finance Committee

FPA is currently seeking board members to join its Finance Committee.  While a background in finance is crucial for this committee, new members do not always have to be a professional “numbers” people, rather they should possess good judgment, logic, curiosity, and a commitment to accountability and the long-term financial stability of the organization. Good committee members will have, or quickly develop, an understanding of nonprofit financial reporting and the IRS 990.

FPA values the presence of a fully engaged finance committee, because we are committed to good stewardship. The Finance Committee play an active role in building and preserving the financial resources necessary to support the accomplishment of FPA’s mission, both for the short and the long term.

The Finance Committee is composed of members of the Board, as well as staff and non-Board members.  Non-board committee membership is a great way to become familiar with the organization before seeking a board appointment.

The role of the finance committee is primarily to provide financial oversight for the organization. This includes budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and the creation and monitoring of internal controls and accountability policies. This Committee meets monthly.

Interested parties should contact, Jamie J. Brunson, Executive Director, First Person Arts at JamieJ@Firstpersonarts.org or at 267.402.2058
